Product description
1 set of 6 small spoons in an original box and 2 loose spoons. Spil length 11 cm. These are silver-plated teaspoons by Gerritsen & van Kempen Zeist with floral patterns, possibly from a set of multiple motifs. Because some flowers are rarer, the value is also higher. It is part of a popular series of "flower spoons" that was produced around the 1930s and 1950s by the firm Gerritsen & Van Kempen from Zeist. AND THESE SPOONS FROM THIS MANUFACTURER ARE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND. Material: Silver-plated, often with a base of '90', which indicates the amount of silver used in the silver-plating of the cutlery. Material: The hallmark "90" and the term "Pleet" (silver plate) indicate that the spoon is not made of solid silver, but is silver-plated. This means that a base metal is covered with a thin layer of real silver. Maker: The mark "Z" (often in combination with "G.Z.") stands for Gerritsen Zeist, a well-known Dutch manufacturer.
