Product description
Set of six early ‘J39’ dining chairs in oak, designed by Børge Mogensen in 1947 for FDB Møbler, Denmark.
This set from 1963 is crafted in solid oak and papercord seats, showcasing a beautifully aged dark patina that highlights the natural grain and warmth of the wood. The iconic J39, also known as the “People’s Chair,” exemplifies Mogensen’s dedication to functional craftsmanship and honest materials—combining Shaker-inspired simplicity with timeless Danish modern design.
In good vintage condition with normal signs of use consistent with the age of the chairs. All seats have been rewoven in our own workshop.
