1960s Sven Ellekaer vintage sofa for Coja Culemborg, the Netherlands. An elegant Mid - Century vintage sofa with the recognizable signature of Danish designer Sven Ellekaer. In an oak frame with dark green leather capitoned cushions.
Sven Ellekaer's design for Coja is a special combination of functionality with aesthetics. The black leather straps visible on the oak frame are part of the "slatted" cushions. The straps and buckles are also still the original straps and buckles and are in good condition.The vintage sofa also has a very nice combination of oak frame and dark green leather upholstery. The color sometimes even tends to black with a change of light. The cushions consist of fine loose elements.
This model of the 925, unlike other 925 models, is not so pompous because the cushions do not extend all the way from seat to backrest or across the backrest.
The oak frame has a beautiful color and the armrests and back have nicely shaped lines.
The sofa comes from the first owners and has always remained within the family. Approximately 60 years old and in good condition with signs of use on both base and leather. Some of the back cushions did lose their shape after 60 years and some of the buttons are missing. However, the cushion fillings are easy to change through zippers behind the cushion covers. On the left seat of the sofa there is a slight discoloration in the leather.
