6 vintage Mart Stam S34 armchairs for Linea Veam, Italy
A strong set of six vintage S34 armchairs, designed by Mart Stam and manufactured by Linea Veam in Italy.
The S34 does not need to impose itself. A single flowing line of chrome tubular steel supports the chair, while the seat, backrest, and armrests of dark chestnut brown leather appear to hang freely within the frame. Architectural and clear, yet nowhere cold thanks to the weathered leather.
It is precisely the difference between the sleek chrome and the natural patina that makes this set special. The leather shows creases, subtle discoloration, and scratches that give each chair its own character.
As a complete set of six, the chairs have a convincing presence around a long dining table or conference table. A recognizable modernist design in a beautiful Italian execution—functional, graphic, and with just enough imperfection to remain interesting.
The chairs are in good vintage condition with visible patina on the leather and normal signs of use on the chrome frames. See photos
