This is a set of six dining chairs, designed by Norwegian designer Tias Eckhoff for the Danish manufacturer Smithco Line. The chairs are a beautiful example of mid-century Scandinavian design, known for their organic shapes and functional simplicity. The construction consists of a light grey plastic shell resting on a striking, circular frame of chromed metal. This gives the chair a light and almost floating appearance. The fabric of the cushions can be easily replaced. They are screwed into the chair. The orange fabric was once applied by the owner and needs replacement. The original burgundy/dark red fabric is underneath the orange fabric. Due to pets, the orange fabric remains on to protect the original fabric. The Smithco Line factory sticker is still present, confirming its Danish origin. The set has an authentic vintage character that matches its age. The chairs are structurally sound and retain their original charm. They are perfect as dining chairs and fit effortlessly into an interior with Mid-Century Modern, Space Age, Scandinavian, or eclectic influences.
