A set of four dining chairs made entirely of solid rio rosewood, a hard, exotic & precious type of wood. The dining chairs were manufactured, in the 1960s, by the Dutch furniture manufacturer a.w.a. (Alink.wilhelm.almelo) based in Almelo. The design is clearly inspired by the soft organic lines seen in the scandinavian style/fashion of this period. The simple and very elegant design makes it a timeless design that still fits beautifully in anyone's modern interior! The rosewood has beautiful flame drawings and warm reddish-brown to orange-brown colors with shades from chocolate brown to black. See the close-ups for this! The chairs have been reupholstered once, with a fabric matching from this period. The upholstery is in clean condition and is free of damage, stains, etc. Matching brass screws for some of the missing and/or broken brass screws used to fasten the seats were once sourced. All four dining chairs have the text and numbering "aarhuis 01080" on the inside of one of the seat rails. Presumably this is the client's name and order number. All dining chairs are solid and have always been used sparingly, as the authentic finish shows minimal signs of use. And due to the maintenance of a wax finish, it has a very nice silk shine!
