A unique set of four original Tecno Modus (SM 203) bucket chairs, designed by Italian designer Osvaldo Borsani in 1972. These space-age classics are a recognizable piece of design history, with one of the chairs equipped with a rare, original folding desk.
The chairs are made of plastic with a heavy chrome-plated tubular frame, making them both stackable and connectable. The set consists of one green, one grey, and two dark blue chairs, each featuring the original Tecno logo pressed into the plastic. The combination of materials and colors reflects the innovative spirit of Italian design from the seventies.
The set is in functional condition with varying aesthetic qualities. Two chairs have retained their original shine, while the other two have acquired a duller appearance due to weathering, although they are structurally completely intact. This concerns the iconic Modus model (SM 203), designed in 1972 by the famous Italian designer Osvaldo Borsani for top manufacturer Tecno.
True Italian space-age classics with the original Tecno logo pressed into the plastic. (It appears dull in the photo, but it reflects so intensely that you can see the dull black floor in the photo of the logo.)
Unique version with writing desk: One of the dark blue chairs is equipped with the very rare, original folding and detachable writing desk. You almost never see this accessory anymore, making the chair a fantastic object for a creative studio, office, or retro interior. Condition of the chairs (2x Good / 2x Needs fixer-upper):
2 chairs are in good vintage condition: This concerns the glossy green chair and one glossy dark blue chair. Ready for immediate use with minimal, normal signs of wear.
2 chairs need fixer-uppers (but completely intact!):
The duller blue chair and the grey chair have weathered/turned dull due to being stored in a warehouse that was unfortunately not ventilated. They have no cracks or breaks, but need to be visually refreshed (for example, with a good polish/compound) to regain their deep shine.
