For sale is an authentic pair of designer candlesticks from the heyday of Danish Mid-Century Modernism.
These original pieces from the 1960s are a prime example of the craftsmanship of this era.
Era: Genuine Mid-Century Modern classic (c. 1960–1969)
Provenance: Danish craftsmanship by Matador Trækunst - Denmark
Special feature: These are authentic originals, identifiable by the historic branding stamp on the bottom. Not a modern reproduction.
Material: Fine teak combined with solid brass – the iconic material combination of the 1960s.
Dimensions: Height approx. 19 cm, diameter at the base approx. 5.5 cm
Style: Organic design, considered today to be the epitome of Scandinavian vintage design.
Condition: Very good vintage condition with a beautiful patina and some signs of wear. The original logo on the underside is present on both pieces.
Minor blemishes and marks are due to age and use, subtly emphasizing the vintage character and attesting to the decades-long history of these originals, without detracting from their sculptural effect or functionality.
These pieces are not merely decorative objects, but valuable collector's items from a significant design era.
