Queen Of Love armchair by the Italian Slide Design, in classic orange.
The Queen Of Love is the most famous piece from the Design Of Love collection that Graziano Moro and Renato Pigatti designed for Slide in 2009. It is a baroque throne. It features swirling carving in the backrest, coiled arms, and curved legs, yet is molded entirely in through-colored polyethylene. That clash between eighteenth-century form and industrial plastic is exactly the joke: from afar, a palace salon armchair; up close, a piece of pop design that you can simply spray down with a garden hose.
The material makes it practical. Polyethylene, UV-stabilized and through-colored, rotationally molded in one piece. No upholstery, no seams, nothing that can rot. That is why these chairs look just as good on a terrace, in a garden, or by the pool as they do indoors in a hall, shop, or hospitality establishment. At 20 kilos, they are light enough to move by one person and wide enough to sit in with real comfort.
The most attractive configuration is two pieces together: one Queen Of Love is an eye-catcher, while two facing each other complete an entrance or a patio corner. A single piece is also negotiable.
