For sale are two rare vintage lounge chairs from Brazilian modernism of the 1960s.
The design is attributed to Jean Gillon, one of the most significant figures of Brazilian mid-century design. Born in Romania, trained in Vienna and Paris, Gillon moved to São Paulo where he developed a distinctive style combining organic forms with exotic hardwood frames and leather. His work is today highly sought after internationally — alongside Sergio Rodrigues and Percival Lafer, Gillon is considered a key figure of Brazilian modernism.
The hardwood frame is solid and in good condition. The chairs offer exceptionally comfortable seating. The leather shows significant age-related wear. Reupholstering is recommended. All details are honestly documented in the photos.
