Description
2 special and rare armchairs 'Lotus' by Rud Thygensen & Jonny Sørensen by Magnus Olesen.
The idea behind these armchairs is to create a hard and resistant exterior as a counterpart to the friendly and soft felt upholstery.
The chairs have a beautiful curved mahogany shell, which is still in very nice condition. The upholstery of both is as new, deep red in colour, completely intact and free of stains.
Due to the outwardly curved corners, the chair opens friendly towards the user, which gives a special effect. The seat shell is supported by steel tubes, which are still in nice condition, but sometimes have some light signs of wear.
In 1970, the designers Rud Thygesen and Johnny Sørensen created and handed over the birthday present for the Danish king. After the royal handshake and photos in illustrated weekly magazines, their exclusive furniture collections caught everyone's attention. Johnny Sørensen and Rud Thygesen have since won many awards.
