The "Elda" armchair was designed in 1963 in Italy by Joe Colombo ( 1930 - 1971 ) and was considered very futuristic for its time. The seat, back and arms are upholstered in black padded leather.
Joe Colombo, one of the most innovative Italian furniture designers of his generation, named the chair after his wife Elda and the chair is in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art New York and the Louvre Paris, among others.
The chair is so iconic that it has been used in several films, including The Hunger Games, Space 1999 and the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me.
