Untraceable booklet published in spring 1990 for the benefit of families evicted from Place de la Réunion (Paris 20th).
An exceptional document at the crossroads of comics, press cartoons and social history: 28 cartoonists voluntarily participated in this publication, including Cabu, Wolinski, Willem, Siné, Druillet, Farid Boudjellal, Romain Slocombe, Cardon, Gébé, Got, Muzo, Placid, Pichon, Philippe Bertrand, Cabanes, Chenez, Cocot, Jacques Elie, Elli, Gibé, Kiki, Lacaf, Lefred-Thouron, Lulu, Pyon, Rouzaud, Soulas and Taffin.
The booklet was designed and produced thanks to the involvement of the Comité des Mal Logés, the Primavera printing house, Maurice Najman, Raymonde Arcier, Françoise Clavé and Olivier Taffin.
Drawings by Cabu and Cardon are extracted from Le Canard Enchaîné. The other contributions were created specifically for this publication and constitute works related to this 1990 mobilization.
A rare document about a major struggle against poor housing in Paris.
This booklet testifies to the mobilization of the Comité des Mal Logés, born as an extension of the struggles related to the arson attacks on furnished hotels in the 20th arrondissement in 1986, which had affected poorly housed families.
On May 2, 1990, 48 families from the Comité des Mal Logés were evicted from a Parisian squat. Refusing the provisional solutions offered, they set up a camp in Place de la Réunion for several months. This widely publicized struggle led to the rehousing of the families and contributed to the creation a few months later of the Droit Au Logement (DAL) association.
Original publication from 1990, printed by Imprimerie Primavera and distributed within a restricted activist circle. No known reprints. No trace of public sale identified to date.
