These very original English Victorian chairs have a wooden frame and papier maché back. They are beautifully decorated and inlaid with mother of pearl which gives them their unique and irresistible appearance. These chairs wear their age with pride and even the upholstery is still original. Furniture in this style was bought in the Victorian era mainly by very wealthy people to show how wealthy and broad minded they were. These lightweight chairs, as you understand, are somewhat fragile and daily use is no longer recommended.
