This set of two classic wooden chairs with webbing seats was crafted by the renowned Austrian furniture maker J. & J. Kohn, a historic producer of bentwood furniture. The timeless design, often associated with the iconic Thonet style, is characterized by elegant, rounded lines and refined craftsmanship typical of the early twentieth century.
The chairs are constructed from solid bentwood, finished in a warm brown hue that highlights the natural grain of the material. The seats feature traditional woven rattan, creating a light and airy contrast with the sturdy wooden frame. The original J. & J. Kohn Wien Austria stamp is still partially visible on the underside of the seat, confirming the authentic provenance and historical value of this set.
The set is in good, functional condition with a characterful patina that bears witness to decades of use.
