2 special vintage perfume bottles from Yemen.
A friend brought these to me from Yemen 38 years ago.
These bottles are made of "Yemeni silver" and/or "Yemeni silver". Both terms refer to traditional silverwork originating from Yemen. The difference is merely a linguistic variation.
Yemeni silverwork is known for the intricate use of filigree and fine granulation. Jewelry with a high silver content was called ṭohōr by the local Jews.
They are very primitively handcrafted.
VERY RARE
Height 6.5 cm and diameter 2 cm.
Antique or authentic Yemeni silver can be quite expensive and valuable. This is not only due to the price of the silver itself, but primarily to the high craftsmanship, rarity, and historical value.
In short: it is precious because of the unique ethnic style and the intensive handwork.
