An imposing set of two hand-carved Mexican sculptures, crafted from solid black obsidian. These detailed figures, inspired by Mesoamerican culture, depict two high-ranking warriors or ceremonial figures in traditional attire, complete with headdresses, a sacrificial knife, and a bowl of stones.
The figures are masterfully created from volcanic glass and richly decorated with an alpaca/silver alloy and inlaid with semi-precious stones such as turquoise and malachite. Each figure measures 35 cm in height, and the combined weight is an impressive 8.8 kg. The 'MEXICO' origin stamp is visible on the metal rim of the base, confirming its authenticity from the second half of the 20th century.
The set is in excellent condition, without any signs of damage. The solid material and refined finish highlight the superior quality and craftsmanship of the anonymous Mexican master artisan.
This monumental ensemble makes a powerful visual addition to any interior. It fits perfectly within a collection of tribal art or as a striking centerpiece in an eclectic or worldly interior.
