This original Accente Loom chair is made from a combination of an aluminum or wooden frame, upholstered in woven kraft paper. Below you will find the specific details of these materials: The Loom weave: This is not made of traditional reed or rattan. It consists of extremely strong paper yarn, which is created by wrapping a metal wire with sturdy kraft paper. This machine-woven material (the 'loom weave') feels like reed, but is lighter, does not tear, and does not splinter. The frame: The woven paper is stretched tightly and glued over a base of solid wood (often beech or rattan) or a modern, lightweight aluminum frame.
The chair was originally white but was later painted anthracite. There are, however, spots where this paint has peeled off.
This original 'Loom Chair' armchair by 'ACCENTE' is a beautiful ORIGINAL LOOM CHAIR from the company 'ACCENTE DAS ORIGINAL - MADE IN GERMANY'. Handmade using the high-quality Lloyd Loom technique. (see below for more information about the history)
The wickerwork—a paper-wrapped material thread called 'LOOM'—is still carefully handcrafted to this day by the company ACCENTE and is a brand of the LLOYD LOOM company.
The armchair offered here comes from a collection from approximately the 1980s and is therefore no longer produced—making it an absolutely unique piece. (Original price of such armchairs €400-600)
This small, lightweight armchair is a dream for your living room or conservatory—or even for a sheltered, covered terrace.
The wickerwork is made from high-quality original loom with an anthracite lacquer finish. This makes it suitable for outdoor use as well. The chair is made of an extremely sturdy construction (form of bent beech wood) and is very comfortable. The reinforcements on the back are also loom-wrapped.
Although this armchair has been used, it is in very good condition. (Light signs of use and wear, e.g. on the backrest - see Photos).
The legs are finished with a sturdy metal cap (see Photos).
Even without a cushion, the beautifully shaped armchair is very comfortable - with a cushion as a seat cushion, it is an absolute dream. 🙂
The Original 'Loom Chair' armchair by 'ACCENTE' is the ideal reading or relaxation chair for your cozy home! You can comfortably rest your arms on the slightly outward-curved armrests and hold an exciting book.

In the late 1970s, brothers Hans and Heinz Vieten from Viersen in North Rhine-Westphalia were traveling through England and happened to come across old originals of Lloyd Loom furniture.
In the early 20th century, the American Marshall B. Lloyd developed the technique: he wrapped metal wire double with paper and wove the material with very fine meshes. He called the fabric created in this way LOOM – and it experienced its boom in the 1920s and 30s.
In 1981, the Vieten brothers founded the company ACCENTE in Viersen, which was the first manufacturer to revive production using the old manufacturing method and, to this day, as the brothers say, produces "the original" by hand.
