A rare, fully labeled example of the "Hockey" sofa, designed for Moroso in the early 1980s by Antonio Citterio — one of Italian design's most influential figures, whose later work for B&B Italia (Sity, Diesis) would go on to define a whole era of Italian furniture.
The design is unmistakable: a curved backrest wraps the seat, while the armrests extend outward as flat, table-like planes — almost architectural in feel, and a world away from the soft, overstuffed leather seating of the previous decade. It's postmodern Italian design at its most confident: sculptural, a little theatrical, and built to be looked at as much as sat in.
This example is in exceptional, fully original condition. The black leather is entirely untouched — no scratches, no chips, no cracking — which is genuinely uncommon for a piece of this age that saw regular domestic use. The Moroso label is present underneath the cushions along with the original printed fabric.
A statement piece for anyone building a serious collection of Italian postmodern design, or simply looking for a sofa with real presence, a true eye catcher for your interior.
