Sculptural Space Age floor lamp produced in Kamenický Šenov, Czechoslovakia, during the 1970s, featuring a tall brass-plated structure crowned by a substantial clear bubble glass globe. The spherical glass shade is characterized by numerous bubbles and organic irregularities inherent to the decorative glass. This texture becomes particularly striking when the lamp is illuminated, refracting the light and producing an atmospheric pattern of shimmering reflections across the surrounding walls. The combination of the clear textured globe, polished brass finish and restrained geometric construction reflects the experimental lighting design associated with 1970s Czechoslovak Modernism and Space Age design. The slender vertical stem rises from a rounded brass-plated base with an integrated switch, giving the lamp a clean architectural silhouette while allowing the illuminated glass sphere to remain the visual focus. The brass-plated metal has been repolished, and the electrical system has been renewed. Minor signs of use and age remain and are consistent with the lamp’s vintage character. The lamp uses one E26/E27 bulb socket and is compatible with US electrical systems.
