This vintage armchair from the 1950s embodies the essence of mid-century modern design. The design combines an inviting, organic seat shell with a sleek, industrial base, resulting in a timeless piece of furniture that offers both comfort and style. The chair comes from an antique shop and originates from Southern Germany; receipt unfortunately not kept, 450 euros. The chair is crafted with a chrome-plated metal frame that supports the seat and backrest via a striking system of rubber bands on the rear. The upholstery is made of a warm, ochre-yellow fabric that contrasts beautifully with the solid wood armrests. The whole rests on a swivel, four-legged star base of polished metal. The tufted details in the backrest and seat add a subtle classic element to the otherwise sleek design. The armchair is in good vintage condition, with the original materials exuding an authentic character. The construction is solid and the swivel function works properly, ensuring the piece of furniture remains fully functional for daily use. There is a small burn hole; additionally, the chair is old and shows signs of wear consistent with a vintage character (see photos).
