Elegant Art Deco walnut coffee table, produced in Czechoslovakia during the 1930s. The table features a distinctive architectural two-tier construction with a square upper tabletop and generously proportioned lower shelf. Curved vertical supports and softly rounded corners create a strong geometric silhouette characteristic of Central European Art Deco design. The surfaces are finished in beautifully figured walnut veneer, selected for its dramatic natural grain and rich tonal variation. Particular attention has been given to the veneer placement across the tabletop, shelf, edges and supports, emphasizing the sculptural character of the piece from every viewing angle. The combination of compact proportions, functional lower storage/display space and expressive walnut makes this table particularly versatile. It can be used as a coffee table, occasional table, side table or decorative accent within an Art Deco, modernist, eclectic or contemporary interior. The table has been carefully refurbished and presents beautifully while retaining minor signs of age and use appropriate to an original piece dating from the 1930s.
