Beautiful Art Nouveau jardinière made of solid brass with a heavy, precisely fitted metal insert. The handles, shaped like curved plants, combined with the two-part construction (split in the middle), are classic features of Art Nouveau. This fire-soldered, handcrafted piece dates from around 1900. It features embossed plant motifs on the brass body. Heavy construction. Suitable as a flower pot, planter, or fruit bowl. In good antique condition with age-related wear. A great piece of living room art.
