Designed in 1954 by Constant Nieuwenhuijs for Asmeta, the ZT shelf is an example of post-war modernist design: clean lines, simple construction, and a timeless silhouette. Constant is best known as a central figure in the CoBrA movement and the Situationist International, making this functional piece particularly interesting to document.
The exterior shows a patina consistent with the piece's age. The interior back panel has an area of rust and lacquer flaking, visible in the photos. This piece can be restored or accepted as is for its raw character.
