Magnificent and iconic Zen lamp by Oscar and Sergi Devesa for Metalarte.
Spain, 1984.
Sculptural structure in chromed metal. It conceals the original opaque diffuser, still present and intact.
Original switch integrated into the structure.
A rare and timeless piece from these fabulous designers.
Excellent condition. May, however, show some signs of age. Nothing to report.
Height 16 cm. Diameter 10 cm.

Metalarte:
Metalarte is a family business with a history spanning nearly a century, which began as a metalworking workshop, founded by Antonio Riera Clariana in 1932 under the name Metall Arts.
In the early 1940s, the company began designing and manufacturing its own lamp models. It was only in the late 1950s that the company began to define the modern and innovative character for which it is renowned, under the influence of the flourishing Scandinavian design of the time.
From the 1960s onward, it began working with external designers who would become leading figures in Spanish industrial design, such as André Ricard, Enric Franch, Joan Antoni Blanc, and Josep Lluscà, thus establishing itself as a benchmark in the lighting sector and a pioneering company in Spanish design; in addition to distributing certain models produced by international firms such as Louis Poulsen, Arteluce, and Stilnovo.
