Yngve Ekström for Stolab launge chair iconic design from 1955 made in Sweden. Arka is characterized by its curved forms, inspired by the curved sidewalks of the Romans, known as arcades, which has given the chair an iconic status in Swedish design. Material - Solid birch wood Designer - Yngve Ekström Swedish founder Yngve Ekström ran his own line and turned many of his furniture pieces into design classics. Yngve was born in Hagafors in Småland in 1913 and went to work in Sweden's oldest furniture factory at the age of 13. There he developed his unique talent for carpentry and a remarkable feel for materials and construction. With simplicity as his design idea, Yngve created many beloved pieces of furniture, but it is the Lamino armchair from the 1950s with which most people associate his name.
