Model VDJ-245, a large, minimalist sideboard designed by Kurt Gunther & Horst Brechmann for Fristho around 1961. Fristho manufactured exclusive, refined furniture using rich materials. This mid-century sideboard is distinguished by its beautiful wood grain, the metal strip along the edge of the top, the elegant minimalist (chrome-plated) base, and its width of 243 cm. The sideboard has four doors; behind three of them are shelves, providing ample storage space. Behind the right door are three drawers (see photo). Thanks to the original black glass (bar) shelf, the left section of the cabinet can be used as a bar or liquor cabinet if desired. The interior is finished with birch veneer. The sideboard was painted grey by the previous owner but has been restored to its original condition, showing signs of age. There are some spots where traces of paint remain in the grain.
