Rare and beautiful original wooden aircraft propeller, dating from around 1917-1918. The propeller is a German Reschke type and is 300 cm long.
The original logo decal is still visible. The propeller was mounted on a 180 hp Mercedes engine and comes from a Rumpler C-type reconnaissance/light bomber, probably from a Rumpler C.VIII.
Manufactured by Rumpler Flugzeugwerke in Berlin. The first flight took place in 1917. The LVA (Air Force Department) also operated several Rumplers during and shortly after World War I.
The propeller was attached to the engine with the Rubb Nabe, a German quick-clamp system for faster propeller changes at the front. There are no holes at the front, and four mounting holes at the rear, each bearing the imprint of the propeller hub. Considering its age, the propeller is in perfect, unrestored, original condition, with museum-quality brass fittings. Only a small piece of wood is missing in the center of the back, which could easily be restored.
