The silver-plated, sculptural brass bowl, with its conical shape and dark rays radiating from the center, exudes absolute elegance in the clear language of the Bauhaus. The bowl displays a fantastic patina and a remarkable play of colors in the metal, which has developed over the years. The feet, formed as three circular discs, lend it a distinctive Bauhaus character. The bowl is undamaged.
WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik) developed the Ikora line in the late 1920s, which achieved great popularity, particularly in the 1930s. This bowl was designed by Paul Haustein, the artistic director of Ikora metalware.
