Enlargement of a gemstone photo, photographed by Wilma van Opstal. For her work as a jeweler, Wilma used a microscope to record the authenticity of stones. By looking into her microscope she discovered the colorful reality that is locked up in the gemstones. Wilma was so fascinated by her discovery of colors and shapes that she captured this with an analogue camera. A new art form was born: Micro-art, a jewel on the wall.
