Rare original Wilkhahn Model 1000 garden bench, also known as the “Bärenbank”. Designed by Walter Papst in 1964 and produced by Wilkhahn in Germany. This sculptural design classic is crafted from a single piece of glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP/polyester). The organic shape and characteristic surface texture give the bench a striking, almost architectural appearance. The bench is in particularly beautiful, completely original condition. It is untreated, unpainted, and unrestored. There are no cracks, breaks, or damage present. Both the original Wilkhahn label and the embossed Wilkhahn trademark have been preserved. The holes at the bottom of the legs are original attachment points allowing the bench to be anchored to the ground if desired. A rare collector's item that fits perfectly in a modern garden, on a spacious terrace, or as a sculptural design object in an interior, office, or reception area.
