WILHELM SCHLOTE (Lüdenscheid 1946) is a well-known German artist, cartoonist and author of children's books. He grew up in Essen and completed his art education there under the guidance of the well-known German artist Heinz Mack (member of the important art movement ZERO ART), who quickly recognized Schlote's talent. In 1980 he lived and worked in St. Germain-des-Prés, in Paris. Schlote wrote a total of 35 children's books.
