This vintage Safari Chair, designed by Wilhelm Kienzle in the 1950s, is a true Mid-Century design classic. The chair is crafted in leather and oak and displays various signs of age-related use (but consequently possesses a beautiful patina, which contributes to its character). The leather has become darker and stiffer, and the seat naturally has bald/worn spots and stains, although this does not really impair the robustness and functionality of the thick leather. The leather straps under the seat need to be replaced with thick leather by a master saddler or similar professional, as the original straps are porous and damaged. The chair is fitted with original wing screws with washers for attaching the backrest. Despite its age, this is still a beautiful and functional chair with great potential after some restoration or simply to be enjoyed as is. Dimensions: Width: 67 cm, Depth: 54 cm, Height: 86 cm, Seat height: 36 cm.
If this armchair is beautifully refurbished / restored, it is worth around 2000. In its current state, a price starting from 350 euros is very reasonable for the fixer-upper/restorer...
