Watercolor by Aad Mustert (1928-2018) The visible part of the watercolor is 29.5*23 cm, the circumference of the frame is 50*45 cm.
The watercolor is in fine condition and provided with a new frame, where the cardboard back of the previous (damaged) frame has been reused. That is, after all, history of the work.
Aad Mustert (1929 - 2018) joined De Porceleyne Fles in 1946 at the age of 16 as an earthenware painter. Because this well-known Delft pottery factory wanted good painters, he went to the Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague and later to the Free Academy also in The Hague. After his retirement, he continued to paint. His main interest was in watercolors because this technique was closely related to painting pottery. He mainly made views of his hometown of Warmond and its surroundings. They were distributed all over the world.
