Italian Wassily Chair in black leather, mid-century, by Breuer for Gavina, 1960s. Wassily Chair, also known as Model B3, with a rectangular seat in black leather and a chromed tubular steel frame. Produced by Gavina in the 1960s and designed by Marcel Breuer in 1925. When Gavina learned that Kandinsky had wanted the Lirst model for the living room of his apartment, they decided to produce it under the name Wassily. Marcel Lajos Breuer was a world-renowned modernist architect and designer, considered one of the most important representatives of the International Style. The Hungarian-born architect was a student at the famous Bauhaus design school in Weimar, where he trained in the school's furniture workshop. Good condition with some unavoidable signs of age and use.
