The Walter Knoll 369 Armchair was designed by the Walter Knoll Team in 1956. At that time, the vast majority of the German furniture industry consisted of classic, solid furniture with a straightforward design. But Walter Knoll ushered in a new era with this soft and organically shaped chair. Around the same time, Charles and Ray Eames introduced their famous Eames Plastic Chair, like the 369 Armchair a modern bucket chair. In other words, the era of modern postwar furniture design had arrived. This was possible in part because of the invention of plastic, which made it possible to experiment with new forms and production techniques. Although the design of this armchair was innovative, the design was not a total break with the past. Thus, influences from Bauhaus, avant-garde and the Scandinavian design tradition can clearly be found in the armchair. The result is a comfortable chair that feels at home in any living style. This is not only due to the refined design, but also because you can fully customize the armchair to your wishes. For example, you can choose from numerous upholstery options in both fabric and leather. The frame can be finished in polished chrome, satin chrome or matte black powder-coated steel. Totally contemporary is a brass base, which is available at an additional cost. As standard, the chair comes with felt glides for a wooden floor, but you can also choose synthetic or metal glides. The 369 Armchair is 74 centimeters wide, 71 centimeters deep and 71 centimeters high. The seat height is 43 centimeters.
