Belgian painter Walter Goossens studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. In 1973, he joined the Black Panter Gallery. Along with Jan Cox, Fred Bervoets and Wilfried Pas, he formed the core of this adventurous, offbeat gallery. Goossens is a very disciplined and hard-working artist. For over twenty years, he worked in isolation and kept his work to himself. After two in-house exhibitions, Goossens made his breakthrough with a major show at Campo, south of Antwerp.
