Product description
An Italian desk from the 1950s characterised by generous proportions and an essential design, where the clean geometry of the structure is enriched by a series of refined brass details. The rectangular top and slender apron create a visually light volume, supported by four tapered legs that emphasise the elegance of the composition. Made of walnut, the desk features a top enhanced by the geometric arrangement of the wood grain and a subtle inlaid border. On the front, two symmetrical drawers with small brass knobs flank a central open compartment, creating a balanced and functional composition. Brass sabots at the base of the legs echo the details on the front and provide a discreet material contrast with the warm tone of the wood. The carefully considered proportions, slender legs and restrained use of brass give the desk an elegant and understated character, representative of Italian furniture design of the 1950s. Its generously sized top makes it suitable both as a functional writing desk and as a central piece within a study or contemporary interior.
