VeArt (founded in 1965 by Sergio Billiotti and Ludovico Diaz De Santillana) manufactured artistic Venetian glass and lighting until the early 1990s. The company's artistic director Mario Ticco (from Venini) developed important collaborations with world-renowned artists and designers such as Toni Zuccheri, Umberto Riva, Tobia Scarpa, Renato Toso, Noti Massari, Paolo Zanotta, etc...
In 1991 Artemide acquires VeArt with which mouth-blown glass collections are launched.
Artemide (Milan, Italy) was founded by Gismondi and Mazza in 1958. The company is probably best known for the Tizio desk lamp (Richard Sapper, 1972) and the Tolomeo desk lamp (Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina,1986).
