Provenance: Purchased from the renowned Kunsthandlung de Bernardi in Aachen (Adalbertstraße), a family gallery since 1890 specializing in regional graphics. Includes original label on the back.
Condition: Excellent, with minor signs of age commensurate with its age. Beautifully framed in a classic wooden frame with gold accents.
Friedrich Kätner was a German graphic artist and professor, known for his realistic and atmospheric etchings of German cities and landmarks. He created several works featuring this exact Aachen motif, as well as other icons such as the Rathaus (town hall) and the Dom (dome).
