Iconic Panton Chair by Vitra, designed in 1959 by Danish designer Verner Panton. The Panton Chair is one of the most famous design classics of the 20th century. Its characteristic feature is its flowing S-shape, in which the backrest, seat, and frame merge seamlessly. This gives the chair its distinctive sculptural appearance. Verner Panton developed the design in collaboration with Vitra until it was ready for mass production. The Panton Chair made design history as the first cantilever chair made from a single piece of plastic. Its slightly flexible construction combines the distinctive form with comfortable seating. The chair is made of dyed-through polypropylene. The white finish emphasizes the clean, organic lines and is versatile enough to be combined with other furniture. Verner Panton's signature is embossed on the underside. A timeless design classic and an icon of modern furniture design. Condition: Good used condition with signs of age. There are some minor scratches and surface marks. Dimensions: L47 x W43 x H81.5 cm. Seat height: 46 cm
