The Aluminium Chair is one of the most important furniture designs of the 20th century. Charles and Ray Eames designed and developed this chair in 1958 for the private residence of an art collector in Columbus, Indiana (USA). For the construction, the design couple deviated from the principle of the seat shell and instead stretched a strip of fabric or leather between two aluminum profiles for a sturdy yet elastic seat. The chair adapts to the body and is extremely comfortable, even without extensive upholstery.
This concerns 4 chairs from 1993 and 1 chair from 2001. There is a very slight difference in fabric, while both are hopsak black.
