DESCRIPTION:
A unique handwoven/handmade kilim rug from Poland. The rug was designed by Maria Janowska and produced by Piotrowska.
The geometric design with warm orange-brown and yellow hues symbolizes the sunset, which corresponds to the name "Zachód." This style is typical of Polish modernist rug art from the 1960s–1980s, which combined traditional kilim weaving techniques with modernist, abstract patterns. Designers such as Janowska, Maksymiuk, and Grygiel designed popular kilims for Cepelia at the time, which were considered both decorative and artistic. This rug is a true piece of art for the floor.
