Product description
Vintage 'Curve' wall panel designed by Danish designer Verner Panton in 1969. This panel, in a luxury velvet finish, was manufactured by the Swiss textile manufacturer Mira-X AG, with whom Panton collaborated in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
The Curve pattern is one of the five main patterns that make up the Mira-X Set. It uses wavy lines with color gradients to create an optical 3D effect and movement. The panel is part of a larger concept in which Panton viewed color, pattern, furniture, and space as a single entity. Consequently, the patterns were used not only for making wall panels but also for carpets, curtains, upholstery, and room dividers.
The border print “DESIGNED BY Verner Panton FOR MIRA-X AG” on the back of the fabric proves that this authentic original fabric was manufactured in the late 1960s and early 1970s. This is therefore before the later reissue by other companies. The entire piece is in very beautiful vintage condition, with no tears or holes to be seen in the velvet.
