Beautiful minimalist modernist vase. Very thick glass and stainless steel. USA - 1970-1980 The Square Ribbon vase is from the exclusive collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Materials and shapes contrast sharply in this series of vases designed for MoMA by American designer Peter Hewitt. A metal band, curved to hold water and support flowers, is solidly suspended inside parallel walls of veneered glass. This sinuous contrast between metal and glass gives resonance to the materials, and the strikingly simple design matches the beauty of the stems they support. Very good vintage condition. Imposing, heavy piece. 17 cm x 17 cm x 6 cm - Description: Modernist Vase - Art Deco - Bauhaus - Designer: Peter Hewitt - Publisher: MoMA - Museum of Modern Art NYC - Materials: Glass - Steel - Period: 1970-1980 - Origin: USA - Condition: Very good, with minor signs of ageing - Dimensions: 17cm x 17 cm x 6 cm
