An "early" VITRA tulip coffee table. The base with the characteristic tulip shape from which the table takes its name is made of cast iron, finished with white paint. The round table top has a nice textured, warm patina and even swivels - useful for passing snacks. I suppose not the original top was, but a very good match, and a timeless classic in your interior. * The logo GRAETER VITRA, is under the base: In 1934, Vitra founder Willi Fehlbaum took over the store furnishing company Graeter, which had been founded in Basel in 1906 and where he had served his apprenticeship as a young man, and ran it with his wife Erika Fehlbaum. In 1950, they established a subsidiary in Weil am Rhein, Germany. The company name was expanded to include the word Vitra, as a pun on the word "showcase," and the first Vitra logo was born. The rest is history... 89 x 45 cm
