The elegant vintage Trieste children's folding chair, designed by Aldo Jacober for Alberto Bazzani in the 1960s, is an Italian design characterized by its consistently minimalist construction and clear, geometric forms. The chair is crafted from solid beechwood and finished in a distinctive dark red. A particularly striking feature is the delicate seat, composed of individual, narrow wooden slats, which lends a subtle rhythmic structure to the otherwise strictly constructed design. The slightly splayed legs and diagonal side panels create a striking, almost graphic silhouette. The gently curved upper backrest adds a subtle organic touch to the otherwise linear construction. Thanks to the integrated folding mechanism, the chair can be completely folded for space-saving storage. The combination of functionality, minimalist design, and meticulously crafted details makes the Trieste a prime example of 1960s Italian design. The chair is part of the design collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, among other collections. Condition: Good vintage condition with age-related wear.
