A sideboard from Fristho's "Modulus" series in Franeker, dating from the 1960s. Crafted from teak with a beautiful, vibrant grain, the design is simple and straightforward, with clean lines and no unnecessary embellishments. This allows the carved solid wood handles to stand out beautifully – a subtle highlight that lends the otherwise understated piece its own distinctive character. The warm teak tone creates a pleasant atmosphere in the room.
On the left, two doors provide storage space with an adjustable shelf behind them. To the right are three drawers that glide smoothly and offer flexible storage options – for documents, cutlery, or small everyday items.
The sideboard is supported by slender, tapered legs that give the piece a certain lightness – typical of furniture from this period.
The sideboard has been completely refinished. Some signs of age-related wear are present.
