This sculptural mid-century lounge chair and matching ottoman were manufactured by R. Huber & Co. in Toronto, Canada. The set still bears the original manufacturer's label, confirming its Canadian origins.
The chair is often referred to in the vintage design market as a "Scoop" chair, a descriptive term derived from its deep, enveloping seat and organically shaped profile. The design reflects the strong influence of Scandinavian modernism, which was dominant in North American furniture design in the mid-20th century.
