This original vintage desk lamp was designed by Josef Hůrka for the Czechoslovak manufacturer Napako. It is the iconic 'Typ 1621' model, a characteristic design from the 1950s and 1960s that reflects the progressive design language of that period. The lamp consists of a red lacquered metal frame with a striking, asymmetrical glass shade. The white glass features a subtle, abstract interplay of lines in brown and grey tones, ensuring a soft and diffuse light distribution. The structure rests on a minimalist, curved wire metal base. The original Napako factory label is still partially present on the red socket housing, confirming the authenticity of the piece. The fixture is in good vintage condition, retaining its original character and authentic finish. The lamp is fully functional and displays a charming patina befitting the object's age. This design piece looks excellent on a wooden desk or a modernist side table.
